Great power relations, including states’ balancing behavior and strategies, are fundamental issues in political science and the central focus of my research. By examining international security, great power rivalry, grand strategy, strategic culture, and foreign policy behavior, I aim to identify the core factors that explain cooperation and competition/conflict among states. More specifically, by using an interdisciplinary approach and mixed research methods, I investigate the dynamics of U.S.-China strategic competition and Sino-Russian alignment, shedding light on how balancing and non-balancing factors shape strategic interactions among great powers. In the same context, I explore the strategic environment in Asia, particularly in Central Asia, South Asia, and East Asia, as well as the Indo-Pacific region. By integrating academic scholarship with policy-oriented research, my work contributes to scholarly debates on states’ balancing behavior and strategies in the international system.
